Coach Guiry has been engaged in youth athletics in Clifton Park and across the Capital Region for over 20 Years. His unwavering approach, passion, commitment and sense of pride has been a positive influence on countless number of student athletes and their teams. Having coached basketball at the youth, high school and AAU levels, Coach Guiry has a proven track record for developing athletes while fostering a positive team culture. Currently, Coach Guiry is entering his 5th season as an Assistant Coach for Shenendehowa High School Varsity Girls Basketball squad. His passion for coaching extends to the Elevate AAU Program and was the impetus for creating the Shen Pride AAU program. Coach Guiry resides in Clifton Park with his wife Mary Rose; their 3 children Brendan, Brian and Courtney are Shen graduates and multi sport student athletes.

John has been coaching girls basketball since 2007.  His basketball coaching experience encompasses both youth and high school age groups for travel and AAU organizations in the area.  John’s coaching success has been based on a focus of teaching fundamental basketball skills in a fun environment, combined with challenging his players to set high goals for their personal achievement.  John’s history in coaching has allowed him to witness first hand what it takes for players to achieve success from youth through high school levels.

Julia is a dedicated coach and educator with a deep connection to the Shenendehowa community. A proud graduate of Shenendehowa, Julia continued her basketball journey by playing at the Division III level, where she honed her skills and passion for the game. Returning to her alma mater, she now serves as a teacher and the assistant varsity basketball coach at Shenendehowa. With many years of experience coaching youth travel and AAU teams, Julia brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to her role, committed to developing young athletes and fostering a love for basketball (and defense :D).

Emily has coached collegiate, high school and youth basketball for over 15 years. She has also coached her children in many youth sports like soccer, baseball and basketball.  She is passionate about keeping basketball fun, and teaching fundamentals.  Emily played Division 1 basketball at the University of New Hampshire and coached collegiately at UNH for 5 years. She was the Shaker Girls Varsity Basketball Coach from 2008-2015.  She is a Physical Education teacher at North Colonie.  The past 2 years she has coached girls youth basketball and she looks forward to continuing to give back to her community.

Sarah has had a passion for basketball since she began playing in the second grade. She continued playing all the way through high school and played at the varsity level for Shenendehowa. From an early age, Sarah was interested in coaching and took her first steps into this role as an assistant coach for a travel team while still in high school. Since that time, Sarah has been coaching AAU and travel basketball. She is also pursuing her master's degree in childhood and special education which adds to her ability to give instruction on the court. Sarah's coaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of understanding the fundamentals of basketball, ensuring that each player builds a strong foundation.
